New Jersey is rapidly becoming a hub for cell and gene therapy; NJIT neighbors nationally recognized leaders in the biopharmaceutical industry including Novartis, J&J, MBS, Cellularity, Legend Biotech, and more that 400 other private and public companies. Since 2011, there has been a 10% increase in New Jersey’s drug and pharmaceutical establishments according to New Jersey's 2018 Department of Labor and Workforce Development report.
NJIT is preparing the next generation biopharma workforce that will produce the gene-, cell- and protein-based drugs of tomorrow. NJIT’s Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a Professional Science Masters (PSM) Option in Cell & Gene Therapy Sciences, and the four-course graduate certificate, were developed in partnership with the New jersey Innovation Institute and leading companies to provide well-trained professionals that will lead industrial efforts in these fields that are critical to the health and well-being of New Jersey’s residents and our society.
